Sweet Butternut Gumbo Crockpot Recipe

I'm frequently asked for ideas for foods to add into slow cooker meals.
This is a SUPER SIMPLE healthy meal AND it is Gluten Free!

Traditionally gumbos go on the spicy side with gravies, which excludes those with Celiacs Disease from enjoying them.
I created this mixture that absolutely tantalizes the taste buds.
It literally melts on your mouth with the little sweetness the light brown sugar and butter add to the flavor.


Add into your CrockPot in the order listed...

2 Cups Water
6 Italian Pork Sausage quartered approx 1-1.5lbs
2-3lbs Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts cubed
3lbs cleaned & cut Butternut Squash
2 Cups Salted Roasted Whole Cashews if your budget permits
Crumble 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar over the Butternut Squash
Top with 4 large pats butter



COOK on LOW 8 Hours or on HIGH 4 Hours



Serve alone like a Stew or with Mashed Potatoes
